Filter-Friendly

Having logged most of my recent photoshop hours simply editing PHOTOS, I was thrilled to stumble on this blog and fall in love (yet again) with creating beautiful images.  This blog actually demonstrates some lovely filters and techniques that, although dangerous in the wrong hands, are wonderfully refreshing. Don't just read and say, "I oughta give that a try." Familiarize yourself with at least ONE creative option to put in your toolbox.  Enjoy!  http://blog.echoenduring.com/2010/01/20/10-photoshop-filters-you-should-definitely-know/

Photo Framed Photo

Fun layering effect in photoshop - the photo becomes the frame... check out a tutorial that shows you how at http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/marksjohnsonphotography/~3/nhPfeSfBbUc/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email

Got The Time?

Time can be a priceless gift or an ungodly curse - depending on how it is spent (or wasted). I spent way too much time on this photo eliminating the huge knot of electrical cords plugged into the outlet on the wall... what an eyesore. I should have left the box blur out just to show off my snazzy/obsessive cloning skills.

Reflection

Odd as it may sound, a local cemetery is one of my favorite spots to visit no matter what the season. It's so more than just a "final resting place." Nature runs amok at every turn with a bubbling stream, a vast collection of well established trees (many ancient and able to tell stories of their own), colorful shrubs and perennials, fabulous, well etched stone work, architecturally stunning buildings and bridges, statuary dating back to the 1800s... all beautifully landscaped and maintained. This solitary figure is one of my favorites - she sits and ponders deep thoughts day after day, year after year, decade after decade.  Here she is - featured in several composite photos.
